It has been over 30 yrs since Louisville has had this much damage from a storm.
- 189,000 LG&E customers (possibly 1/2 million people) still w/o electricity
- National Guard deployed to step in and help out.
- More than 40 intersection lights are out
- About 100 police working the intersections to help guide traffic
- More than 6,000 broken poles & wires are down
- Still many gas stations are without power
- The long lines at the gas stations and high gas prices are making it a real gas crunch
- Jefferson county schools are closed
- AND sadly 3 people have died from trees falling
and with all this chaos....we have the Ryder Cup in town (an international event)
40,000 fans are here in Louisville, at Valhalla golf club, for the Ryder Cup
Here are a few pics from our neighborhood damage...which is NOTHING, comparitively
And these are pictures from around the city

Friend, you just be careful when you're out taking pictures. It looked really windy in one of those and we don't want a tree to fall onto YOU!
Do you have power yet or are you living like Joseph Smith with candles? :)
We have power, and now my brother and sister-in-law do...but some of our friends still don't. Some of those pictures I stole from our news website.
good job on the post. i'm totally going to have to steal some of these photos.
